Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of The Gambia consist of the Governor as its Chairperson and four other Directors. Empowered by the CBG Act 2018, the board performs its functions independently and is responsible for the observance of the objectives of the Bank. It is also responsible for the general administration and formulation of policies necessary to achieve these objectives.
Members of the board are appointed by the President in consultation with the Public Service Commission, from among persons of standing and experience in financial matters.
The board members, other than the chairperson, can be appointed for a term of two years and are eligible for a further term.
The board meets at least once every three months, but the governor may summon meetings as often as required.
